Rainsford // Rendezvous

Since the release of her first single, “S.I.D. (Summer in December)”, up and coming pop singer Rainsford has only shared excellent 80s-inspired pop gems. She followed up her debut with one of my favorite tracks of last year, “Too Close”, a slow burning groove that highlights her stellar vocals and songwriting, but also shows production that is simultaneously a throwback and forward thinking. After a bit of silence, she released “Sweet Spot” featuring Swimsuit Issue which had a significantly more R&B vibe than her other tracks, showing that she is able to tackle multiple genres. We haven’t heard from her in a while, but thankfully she is back with the excellent Rendezvous, inspired by witnessing a moment of passion between two lovers in a park. After the more modern “Sweet Spot”, “Rendezvous” goes back to her 80s feel with great success. It’s the kind of song that gets stuck in your head after a single listen and will definitely have you going back for more. Check out “Rendezvous” below and be on the lookout for more excellent material from the growing star!
