Lana Del Rey is one of my favorite artists of all time. I came to that realization last year when I was listening through her three albums and there wasn’t a song I didn’t like. That’s quite the feat considering how much music she’s put out in the last few years! Lana definitely maintains a signature sound but isn’t afraid to play around with it to allow growth as an artist. After releasing Born to Die, Ultraviolence, and Honeymoon relatively quickly, we had become pretty spoiled, getting new music from her pretty much every year. That made the wait for new music seem much longer than it actually has been. Luckily the wait came to an end on Saturday with the release of new single, Love. It seems it was an unplanned early release as leaked versions started popping up on the internet. I always feel bad when an artist has been working so long on something and they don’t get to share it with the world the way they wanted to. That being said, I’m so excited to have new Lana music. Love finds Lana Del Rey singing about familiar themes (vintage music, being young and in love) with her signature languid vocal delivery over cinematic orchestral instrumentation with unique production elements thrown in. Love is everything I enjoy about Lana Del Rey and I’m so excited to see what this new era of music brings for her! Click HERE to listen to Love or on Spotify below!
